Teenagers nowadays are attracted to eating junk food which is unhealthy to the skin and overall health as well.  Studies have shown that even chocolates can be a major reason behind acne. Spicy foods containing tomatoes, pepper, etc. can be irritating for your skin and you may notice little whiteheads or blemishes on your skin.

A study from American Academy of Dermatology has suggested that foods with High glycemic index (GI) are liable for acne formation. 4. Do Not Prick

However, pimples are very frustrating, you must avoid touching and pricking them. Pricking is one of the main causes of pimples. If you prick them, the puss, which contains acne-causing bacteria will spread out and lead to the formation of more acne. Moreover, there is a particular way of pricking the pimples. If pricked in the wrong manner, it will leave scars on your skin which will be difficult to recover.

5. Stay Stress-Free

Often people with stress are found questioning ‘what causes breakouts. They even have stress about the fact that they are having breakouts. Stress plays a very significant role in the development of sudden acne. 8. Don't exfoliate Skin

It is a myth that rubbing the skin with rough clothes or abrasive scrubs may help to improve the pimples, but actually, it won’t help you in any way. Moreover, it may lead to skin irritation which can worsen the acne breakouts.

9. Keep your hair clean

Surprisingly, our hair hygiene affects skin health. It is important to wash hair on a daily basis so extra oil or any other impurities should not run to your face. In addition, excessive use of fragrances, oils, pomades, or gels on your hair may clog the skin’s pores and worsen the acne. So, use mild conditioners and shampoos for your hair.

Apart from the reasons stated above, acne can also occur due to hormonal changes, heavy medication, and facial hair removal techniques, etc. It is, therefore, important to first know and understand the cause of acne and then take action accordingly. In general, correcting certain life style habits and taking care of a few things one can prevent acne and pimples. But treatment is important if an acne condition has become severe.
