Home Remedies for Acne Prone Skin
Acne nowadays has become a very common problem due to the increase in pollution and stressful lifestyle. Consulting doctors, taking medicines and costly treatments and still getting no result, yes, that is definitely frustrating! A lot of people have admitted that their skin becomes clean only till the time they take medicines and thereafter, they are forced to welcome acne back to their face. Most of the times, people also face side effects of medicines like redness, dryness, or even irritation at times. Some main causes of acne are diet, infection, bacteria, hormonal changes, genetics, etc.
Let us have a look at a couple of home remedies for oily skin:
1. Gram Flour
Using gram flour (Besan) with milk for eliminating acne scars is a very good technique. Adding a pinch of turmeric to the paste would do wonders for your skin. You can mix the three ingredients and make a paste. It should be applied twice a day for best results.
2. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar is a very common kitchen ingredient which is used to reduce the bacteria on the pores which cause acne. All you have to do is mix apple cider vinegar with water and apply the solution on your acne prone skin with cotton. You can also add honey into the paste for better results. Apply the paste for 10-15 minutes and then wash with normal water.
3. Honey and Cinnamon Mask
Honey and cinnamon fight bacteria and help in reducing inflammation. These are the two main causes of acne. To form a paste, add one tablespoon of cinnamon with two tablespoons of honey. Mix it properly and apply it on your face for 10 minutes. Wash with normal water.
4. Lemon Juice
Lemon is another common ingredient easily available in the kitchen and is therefore, the most preferred home remedy for oily skin. Since lemon juice contains Vitamin C which helps in rebuilding body collagen. To apply, you just have to squeeze lemon in a bowl, dip cotton into it and then apply it on your face. If you feel that your skin is sensitive, then you can dilute the solution with rose water or rose oil and then apply it. You can wash your face after 10-15 minutes of application.
5. Green Tea
Not only in losing weight, green tea is also very beneficial for acne treatment as well. Its anti-bacterial properties help the skin to remain clean and it is also helpful in reducing sebum production. You have to just put green tea bags in boiling water for 3-4 minutes and allow it to cool down. Then apply it using a cotton ball or spray it on your face. You can rinse your face with normal water after some time.
6. Olive Oil.
Olive oil has anti-inflammatory properties and it is also rich in iron and vitamins which are very beneficial for the face. It helps acne prone skin to stay moisturised. Put some oil on your palm and apply it gently on your face especially on the parts where acne is present. Then, soak a clean cloth or towel in hot water and put it on your face. Feel the steam.
7. Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is considered to be the best home remedy for oily skin. Since it is a plant, it is the most natural thing to apply on the face with no chance of even 1% chemical addition. You can plant it at your home as well. All you have to do is cut it in half and take out the gel with a spoon. Apply it on your face like a moisturiser once or twice a day.
