Tips to Get Rid of Back Acne

1.    Know WHY!!

Back acne can be caused due to various reasons. So, the very first thing you need to know is the reason behind the cause of back acne. Amongst the major reasons can be oil production, hormonal changes, hygiene, and clogged pores. Once you know the reason, know about the best bacne solutions.

2.    Take bath after exercising

While working out, you must use wicking fabric as it gives a cooling and dry effect. After sweating heavily, do not avoid having a shower. If the sweat gets accumulated on your back, it gives a place to the bacteria to live and thus causing back acne. If avoided over a long period of time, you can get clogged pores which will eventually cause acne with a little white head.

3.    Rinse off your Conditioner

Whenever you take a head bath, make sure that you wash out your shampoo and conditioner properly from your hair as the conditioner is only good for your hair, not for your back. Moreover, prefer washing with cold water. Hot water opens up the pores which make the skin more acne prone. Do not forget to wash your body properly, especially rubbing the back with a cleansing brush so that the residue of the conditioner on the back is removed as well.

4.    Hygiene

This is one of the very basic steps to be taken care of. Your bed sheets, pillow covers, and towels must be changed regularly, at least once a week. You should also take care that you change and wash your underclothes daily. Also, try to use a fragrance-free laundry detergent. Try to use detergents made for sensitive skin, probably for baby skin. If possible, bleach your sheets. Do not forget to wash blankets, comforters, and other bedclothes regularly. Wash your comforters, bedclothes, and blankets regularly.

5.    Use Medicated Products

Wash your body with oil-free body wash which contains 2% active salicylic acid. Try to use one which is non-comedogenic and fragrance-free. Give it some time to act and then rinse off. After washing, you must moisturise your back with a non-comedogenic and oil-free moisturiser. Moisturising is necessary as salicylic acid is washed away from your skin while bathing.

6.    Home-made Scrub

In order to get rid of back acne, you can prepare an exfoliating scrub at home to remove dead cells that form clogged pores. To prepare the scrub, take a half cup of coarse salt and one and a half cups of white sugar along with the juice of one grapefruit. You can add honey to the mixture if you wish to as it has antibacterial properties and will, therefore, help to remove bacteria that cause acne.
