Damaged Hair Treatment

1.    Steam

Your lifestyle probably keeps your hair dry making them brittle especially in winters. So, what you can do to repair damaged hair is, give steam to your hair at night to keep them moisturised and also protect them from the roughness of the day.

2.    Conditioning

Before going to a beach or after swimming, it is a must to condition your hair in order to save it from the harsh chemicals of water. For making your own conditioner, you can add 1/4th cup apple cider vinegar to a 3/4th cup of water.

3.    Wrap wet hair

Make it a point to never rub your hair after washing. You must always wrap the wet hair in a cotton towel for some time to let the strands absorb the moisture properly. This also helps in preventing split ends. This is the easiest step towards damaged hair treatment.

4.    Botanical Oils

Nature has always benefitted us in almost every possible problem. Repairing hair damage is one of them. Oils like olive, jojoba, almonds, and coconut have given fabulous results for years and continue to do so till date. They are the best hair oil for dry damaged hair. Coconut oil works brilliantly for thick hair. The simple procedure you have to follow is to apply the botanical oil on your head thoroughly and massage lightly. Wrap your hair in a shower cap or a warm towel for some time to let the strands and scalp absorb the moisture. After that, you can rinse your hair with normal water. Make sure you use a dermatologically tested shampoo and conditioner which has clinically proven actives and is sulphate and silicone-free. One such conditioner is Murumuru Damage Repair Conditioner.

5.    Avoid Chemicals

One of the very basic faults all of us make is using chemicals like dyes, bleaching or chemical straightening. They definitely make you look good but are very harmful to your hair. You can use natural treatments like using tea for dyeing to repair damaged hair.

6.    Trim Regularly

Another important damaged hair treatment is to get your hair trimmed regularly as the lower ends get split after some time and therefore make the hair to look rough from the lower ends. If not treated on time, they start going up, becoming more difficult to be treated while making the hair look rough.

7.    Protein Rich Food

Consuming protein-rich foods is another way of repairing your damaged hair. Whatever you eat affects your body parts in some way or the other. Protein-rich food is one of them. Fish, eggs, yogurt, and soya can help you get back your healthy and strong hair. However, at the same time, you must keep in mind that too much protein with no or less moisture will make your hair brittle. Therefore, try to take foods rich in Omega 3 fatty acids.

8.    Avocado Mask

DIY Avocado Mask by mashing a ripe avocado and mixing it with one egg. Apply it to your wet hair for 20 minutes and then rinse with normal water. Doing this once a week will do wonders to repair damaged hair.
